Yesterday I had the opportunity to speak with Karo Parisyan, the former UFC title contender who fell on hard times after a positive test for pain medication. Karo is a brutally honest interview, maybe to his detriment but in the twenty minutes I spoke with him, he laid it all our there. It's a shame that even after putting on countless exciting fights, he'll best be remembered for his cameo appearance where he asked Nate Diaz if he knew who he was.

Karo "The Heat" Parisyan had his moments over the last two years when he never thought he would return to the Ultimate Fighting Championship, but the veteran welterweight has a chance to put those doubts behind him this weekend.

Love him or hate him, Karo Parisyan is a force to be reckoned with in the mixed martial arts. A veteran of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, King of the Cage, World Extreme Cagefighting and several other promotions, he counts Matt Serra, Nick Diaz, Chris Lytle and Shonie Carter among his vanquished foes.

Karo Parisyan doesn’t get stumped by too many questions. But when you ask the welterweight contender what keeps him motivated after all the ups and downs he has experienced in an amazing 11-year journey through mixed martial arts, he falls silent.

Karo Parisyan vs. Ryan Ford. This was a welterweight fight that was part of the MMA Live 1 card in London, Ontario, Canada.

This should be another excellent fight. Both fighters come out swinging wildly. Parisyan catches a Burkman kick and punches Burkman to then take him down. Back on their feet, Parisyan catches Burkman with a couple of more nice punches.
